2023 Fantasy Outlook
Ingram was an enigma during a four-year career that went through Texas and USC, flashing upside at both schools but also failing to fully meet expectations. He fell to the sixth round of the 2022 draft with the understanding that he was a "low floor, high ceiling" prospect. He followed with an inconclusive but uninspiring rookie season, so it's still difficult to tell where he might land in his range of outcomes. What's certain is that he's an above-average athlete (4.53 40, 122-inch broad jump at 221 pounds), and he outplayed 2023 fourth-round pick Roschon Johnson when the two were at Texas (though that was Johnson's first year playing running back). It's also certain that the Cardinals have no depth behind the injury-prone James Conner. Ingram does not need to stand out to outplay the likes of Corey Clement and Ty'Son Williams. Staying in Kansas City
The Chiefs signed Ingram to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Ingram will stay in Kansas City, where he spent time on the practice squad this past season after being waived by Arizona. The 2022 sixth-round pick ran the ball 35 times for 74 yards in eight games with the Cardinals last season and will look to compete for a backup spot behind Isiah Pacheco.

Jamaal Williams hasn't done much for the Saints this year but may now be forced into a huge role Week 18 against the Falcons.
Khalil Herbert re-emerged as Chicago's lead runner Week 16 and went over 100 yards, but his role moving forward may (or may not) depend on D'Onta Foreman's availability.
Ty Chandler's impressive Week 15 performance could keep him in the lead role even if Alexander Mattison returns from an ankle injury soon.
Five starting RBs left Week 13 contests early, potentially setting up lead roles for Ezekiel Elliott, Kenneth Gainwell and others. Meanwhile, Chuba Hubbard and James Conner topped 100 yards and scored twice.
Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to back up Conner in Week 10
Ingram will likely be bumped down to a backup role in Week 10 against the Falcons, as coach Jonathan Gannon said Friday that Conner's "trending in the right direction" for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Conner will need to be officially activated from injured reserve to suit up for the first time since injuring his knee in Game 5, but after having his 21-day window to return opened Wednesday, Conner seems to be trending towards playing. Ingram mustered just eight yards on nine carries in the Week 9 shutout loss to Cleveland with Emeri Demercado sidelined by a toe injury, but with Demercado still not practicing, Ingram would be in line for another start against the Falcons if Conner's ultimately held out.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Taken in the sixth round, Ingram seemingly has the size to handle a big workload in the NFL,
though he never saw more than 156 carries in four seasons between Texas and USC, maxing
out as a senior for the Trojans with 911 yards and five TDs. He doesn't have great speed (4.54
40) and showed a tendency to bounce runs outside, where speedier pro defenders would be
able to track him down. While perhaps flawed as a prospect, Ingram does have a decent
opportunity in Arizona, where injury-prone James Conner and former Chiefs backup Darrel
Williams are the veteran RBs ahead of him. That doesn’t mean Ingram will have a role right out
of the gate, but it does at least give him a shot to compete with Williams and Eno Benjamin for
backup work behind Conner.
