Soriano is scheduled to compete against Miguel Baeza in a welterweight fight at the UFC Apex's June 8 event, per Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com.

Falls to 1-4 in past five fights
WelterweightUFC
December 2, 2023
Soriano lost to Dustin Stoltzfus via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:10 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
This type of effort as upwards of a -350 favorite, when, combined with his recent struggles, could be more than enough to cost Soriano his roster spot. Puna has legitimate power, but his takedown defense is awful, and he's never been able to generate any type of secondary offense if his power shots aren't landing. He gave up four takedowns to Dustin on seven attempts and was eventually finished off via rear-naked choke late in Round 2. Soriano began his UFC run with back-to-back wins, but is just 1-4 in five fights since.

Taking on Sedriques Dumas

April 21, 2023
Soriano agreed to fight Sedriques Dumas in a middleweight bout at UFC Jacksonville on June 24, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano is 3-3 since he joined the UFC in 2019 but has lost three of his past four bouts, so this matchup could be critical for his future in the promotion. Dumas came up through Dana White's Contender Series and lost his UFC debut to Josh Fremd in March.
Struggles continue in Vegas
WelterweightUFC

Soriano lost to Roman Kopylov via TKO (strikes) at 3:19 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Simply put, these are the type of fights Soriano cannot afford to lose. Entering as a slight -140 favorite, Puna wasn't all that competitive against an opponent in Kopylov that has had his own struggles of late. Soriano has real power, but he's extremely reckless on the feet, and his cardio is questionable. He essentially never had a chance of a comeback in this fight because he was too tired. Referee Kerry Hatley mercifully pulled the plug midway through Round 2. It was only going to get worse from there. Soriano began his UFC run with back-to-back knockout wins, but he's lost three of four since, and there's certainly a chance his roster spot could be at risk.
