Dawodu defeated Yoshinori Horie via TKO (head kick) at 4:09 of Round 3 at UFC 240 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Dawodu seemed to be having trouble with the movement of his opponent in Round 1 but adjusted in a big way thereafter, putting his combinations together and timing repetitive attacks. This culminated in a third round that saw Dawodu rain down on his opponent with ferocity until a clean head kick sat him down for the finish. Dawodu was known as a finisher outside of the UFC, but hasn't always started fast enough to gain that momentum in the Octagon. In any event, it is clear that he is a gifted athlete and striker, giving him the potential to put up fun fights as he climbs the ranks. He moves to 10-1-1 in professional MMA as a result of the victory, and will take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts.

Dawodu will face off against Yoshinori Horie at UFC 240 in Edmonton on July 27, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS

Roll continues with win over Kyle Bochniak

Dawodu defeated Kyle Bochniak via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27) at UFC 231 on Saturday in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Disregard the "split decision" term because it means nothing. Dawodu put forth another strong effort in his home country. He stuck with the game plan and landed 103 total shots compared to just 47 of Bochniak. And while Bochniak scored two takedowns, Dawodu defended 10 other attempts. It was solid all-around performance from a potential rising star at 145 pounds. Bigger things are ahead for the 27-year-old Calgary native.

Dawodu will fight Kyle Bochniak at UFC 231 on Dec. 8.
ANALYSIS
Dawodu owns a career 8-1 record, but has fought just two total times under the UFC banner. He picked up his first win in the promotion at the end of July with a unanimous decision victory over Austin Arnett and will look to parlay that momentum into another solid showing against Bochniak. Bochniak enters the fight losing two of his last three fights, so he'll be looking for a bounce-back effort. Dawodu owns a three-inch reach advantage and a one-inch height advantage.
Earns first win of UFC career in hometown of Calgary
FeatherweightUFC
July 28, 2018
Dawodu defeated Austin Arnett via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on FOX 30 on Saturday in Calgary.
ANALYSIS
Considering he dropped his UFC debut in March to Danny Henry in a mere 39 seconds, Saturday's strong unanimous decision win was a massive step in the right direction for Dawodu. Fighting in front of his hometown fans in Calgary, Dawodu methodically overwhelmed Arnett on the feet with perfectly placed combinations. The rest of Dawodu's game remains a work in progress, but he's a terrific striker. The 27-year-old is worth keeping an eye on moving forward.
