After using his wrestling game to secure his first four UFC wins, Zabit defeated the heavy-handed Kattar in what was essentially a 15-minute kickboxing match. He landed his first and only takedown with about 15 seconds left in the bout. Second, was the fact his chin held up despite eating countless power shots from Kattar. Zabit clearly won the first two rounds and could have cruised to a decision, but he engaged his opponent in the third and final frame and lived to tell about it. That effort put on a stellar show for fans and earned each combatant a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus. Simply put, it's impossible to train for Zabit because there isn't a single 145-pounder on the roster who can match what he brings to the table. The guy makes the featherweight limit without issue despite standing 6-foot-1 and then goes out and employs elite-level abilities in multiple disciplines. If his chin holds up, he might be unbeatable. Zabit could be next in line for the winner of next month's UFC Featherweight Championship fight between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski. Zabit better hope that Holloway wins because a Volkanovksi victory would likely result in Max getting an immediate, well-deserved rematch.
