Kapanen was drafted 64th overall by the Canadiens at the 2021 NHL Draft on Saturday.

ANALYSIS
Finnish players pride themselves on smarts and team play and Kapanen is a perfectly example of that. He can be deployed in a variety of different roles at both ends of the rink and be an asset in each of them. Kapanen's offensive skill set is at least average and he'll throw the body around if needed. Combine that with a 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame and there is legitimate upside here. Kapanen's uncle Sami played more than 800 NHL games and Oliver is expected to spend at least the next couple seasons with the KalPa program in Finland, for which Sami is the team owner.
