Dylan Sikura
24-Year-Old Left WingLW
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Sikura struggled in limited action with the Blackhawks last season, failing to score a goal while notching eight assists in 33 contests, but he was far more productive in the minors, racking up 17 goals and 35 points in 46 appearances. The Northeastern University product inked a two-year extension with Chicago in June, so the 'Hawks clearly haven't given up on him yet, but he'll likely once again spend the majority of the 2019-20 campaign with AHL Rockford. He'll be a candidate for a full-time, bottom-six role with the big club in 2020-21, but it remains to be seen if he'll ever achieve fantasy relevancy at the highest level. Sikura may be worth a waiver claim if he earns an extended stay with the Blackhawks this season and begins to produce, but there's no reason to spend a pick on him in re-draft leagues this year. Sikura signed a two-year contract extension with the Blackhawks on Friday.
ANALYSIS
The first year of Sikura's extension is a two-way deal, but it transitions into a one-way deal in its second year, which suggests the Blackhawks are confident he'll be ready for a full-time NHL role in 2020-21. The 2014 sixth-round pick showed promise as a point producer during his time with AHL Rockford last season, notching 17 goals and 18 assists in 46 contests, but he'll likely never achieve that level of success with the big club.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Sikura spent the majority of the 2017-18 campaign finishing up his collegiate career with Northeastern University in impressive fashion, racking up 22 goals and 54 points in just 35 games en route to a nomination as a Hobey Baker Award finalist. Following his senior season, the young forward signed his entry-level deal with Chicago, and managed to pick up three assists in the final five games of the season with the big club. At 23 years old, Sikura is poised to immediately step into a prominent role with the Blackhawks in 2018-19, and he should get top-six minutes and looks on the power play right out of the gate. The 2014 sixth-round pick is still entirely unproven, but he'll be worth a look in the later rounds of fantasy drafts this season as a high-upside, low-risk selection.
