Dominik Kubalik
Dominik Kubalik
24-Year-Old Left WingLW
Chicago Blackhawks
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Kubalik, who was originally selected by the Kings in the seventh round of the 2013 draft, spent the 2018-19 season with HC Ambri-Piotta of the NLA, totaling 25 goals and 57 points in 50 contests. The 23-year-old went onto represent Team Czech Republic at the IIHF World Championship tournament, racking up an impressive six goals and 12 points in 10 appearances against some of the NHL's best players. It isn't clear how well Kubalik's skills wills translate to the smaller North American ice in 2019-20, but if he's able to acclimate quickly and earn top-six minutes, he'll definitely be worth a waiver claim in most fantasy settings. Calder worthy performance
LWChicago Blackhawks
February 27, 2020
Kubalik scored three goals Thursday in a 5-2 win over the Lightning.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old rookie now has 29 goals and 43 points in 62 games. Kubalik is riding a three-game, five-point scoring streak and has put up points in six of his last seven games. He's the top rookie goal scorer by a large margin -- his next closest competitors are Victor Olofsson and Denis Gurianov, both with 19. And Kubalik sits third in overall freshman scoring. He'll certainly get some Calder consideration.
