ANALYSIS
Green actually hasn't played since 2016-17, when he was with Finnish club KooKoo. After being selected by Los Angeles with the 30th overall pick in the 1996 NHL Draft, the 41-year-old Green went on to play in 341 games for eight different franchises in which he notched 36 goals, 40 assists and 474 shots.

Green is a 34-year-old journeyman with 341 career NHL games who will once again be nothing more than a player who is called up from time to time to replace an injured teammate.
Green is back for his second go around with Edmonton spending three seasons with the Oilers in the early 2000s. At this point in his career Green is organizational depth who seem likely to spend most of the season in Oklahoma City of the AHL and be called up to fill in when needed.
Green spent last season in Sweden with MoDo and compiled 12 goals and eight assists in 47 games. He was with the Ducks in 2008-09 and played 39 games. Green did appear in five Stanley Cup playoff games in 2008-09 and went scoreless. A journeyman forward, he has experience in 322 NHL games with career numbers of 35 goals and 39 assists. For 2010-11, the 32-year-old will have to compete hard for any roster spot with the Ducks. If he does make the NHL, it will be a surprise if Green cracks the 20 point barrier.
Green will battle for a roster spot and try to land a gig on the Ducks third or fourth line, but it's going to be an uphill battle after he spent last season in Austria. Since he's on a two-way contract, Green figures to begin the season with the team's new AHL affiliate in Iowa. Even if he skates with the Ducks, Green is a defensive-minded forward with minimal roto upside.
Green has little fantasy value at the NHL level. His role continues to be as a fill-in player during those stretches where injury strikes.
