There are eight games in the NHL on Sunday, but only the three latest matchups are featured in DraftKings featured contests. It's fitting, as all six teams are chasing a postseason berth or an improved seeding.
GOALIE
Laurent Brossoit, WPG at CLS ($7,600): The Blue Jackets were shutout by Edmonton on Saturday, and now face the high-powered Jets. Winnipeg is chasing down the top spot in the Central Division, and Brossoit boasts an impressive .928 save percentage and 2.48 GAA this year. It's a tough matchup, so there's potential the backup carries a low ownership percentage. Additionally, if Connor Hellebuyck ($7,800) has recovered from the flu, the salary increase isn't crippling.
CENTER
Logan Couture, SJ vs. CHI ($5,800): Chicago is playing its second road game in consecutive nights and has been a defensive disaster all season, surrendering the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes in the league on the road at 13.88. Couture has solidified himself as San Jose's No. 1 center and recorded three goals, seven assists, four multi-point games and 25 shots through his past nine contests to improve to a rock-solid 2.91 points per 60 minutes this season.
Kyle Turris, NSH at MIN ($3,000): Skating with Mikael Granlund ($5,500) in all situations should provide a notable value boost for Turris, and the center's current salary makes him an attractive value. After all, the veteran is locked into second-line duty and currently projected to skate with the No. 1 power-play unit. Turris also owns an unsustainably low 6.7 shooting percentage through 12 contests since returning from a lower-body injury.
WING
Patrick Kane, CHI vs. SJ ($7,300): With 11 tallies, 12 helpers and 71 shots through 14 outings dating back to the beginning of February, this salary isn't prohibitive enough to overlook Kane. In small player pools, it's all the more important to focus on high-floor players, and Kane's 19.88 shot attempts per hour qualifies as a high-end mark. The Sharks also haven't been defensively stout of late with three goals or more allowed in each of their past four contests.
Jason Zucker, MIN vs. NSH ($4,600): The streaky scorer has collected two goals, two assists and 17 shots through his past four outings and has catapulted to the top of the depth chart following Minnesota's deals before Monday's trade deadline. There's also the potential Zucker carries a contrarian ownership percentage, as the Wild are playing a back-to-back set and Nashville is statistically superior in most metrics.
Kevin Labanc, SJ vs. CHI ($4,100): This is a modest salary for the power-play specialist. Labanc has produced at a point-per-game price with six goals and seven assists since the beginning of February and lands in the noted soft matchup. Not only are the Blackhawks playing their second game in consecutive nights, they also own a league-low penalty-kill percentage at 72.6 while allowing the most goals per 60 minutes shorthanded at 11.5.
DEFENSE
Roman Josi, NSH at MIN ($6,000): Even with a recent four-game scoreless stretch, Josi has recorded a high-end 1.82 points per 60 minutes while logging the third most ice time in the league. The Swiss native's 225 shots and 108 blocks also provide a high-fantasy floor in the secondary categories, and Minnesota is in a vulnerable schedule spot playing a back-to-back set.
Jacob Trouba, WPG at CLS ($4,800): The 25-year-old American hasn't offensively capitalized on his increased role with Dustin Byfuglien (lower body) out of the lineup for most of the past two months. Now, Josh Morrissey is out until April with an upper-body injury. Expect Trouba to play close to half of Sunday's game, which positions him to pile up secondary statistics and chances to mark the scoresheet.
