FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Welcome to a busy NHL Saturday! Even without the two 1:00 PM ET starts included for daily fantasy purposes, there are 10 games on the slate. You'll have plenty of options, and here are my recommendations.

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. DET ($8,800): Dubnyk enters with a 2.54 GAA and .915 save percentage, both of which are impressive numbers in the current scoring landscape. However, over his last 13 games, he's actually recorded a 2.10 GAA and .930 save percentage. Now he's facing a Red Wings team that ranks in the bottom-10 in both goals and shots on net per game, and will also be on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

CENTER

Paul Stastny, VGK at CHI ($5,700): Since returning from injury, Stastny has tallied 11 points in 14 games. The only issue is he hasn't notched a point on the power play yet, but that should happen eventually as he's played 1:51 per game with the extra man. It could be in this matchup, as the Blackhawks own the league's worst penalty kill in addition to a 3.61 GAA.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi, MON vs. COL ($4,300): Kotkaniemi was picked third overall in the last NHL Draft, but he feels a bit overlooked. He's managed 21 points in 45 games, but four of them have come in his last seven outings. The 18-year-old has also started 60.3 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second highest on the Canadiens. As for the Avalanche, they come in with a 3.46 road GAA, while giving up 33.1 shots on net per game in those matchups.

WING

Alexander Radulov, DAL vs. STL ($6,700): Given how pricey Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn tend to be and given the lack of depth on the Stars, Radulov is almost the only option at forward whenever they have a favorable matchup. The numbers are there for Radulov, with 39 points in 35 games. Meanwhile, the Blues own a 3.14 team GAA, with Jake Allen struggling to a 3.20 GAA and .882 save percentage over his last 13 games.

Timo Meier, SAN vs. OTT ($5,400): Meier hasn't scored a goal in a while, but has six assists in his last six games. Plus, he's registered 18 goals in 43 contests, so it's not like scoring has been an issue. Scoring has definitely not been an issue for teams playing the Senators, who boast league highs with a 3.87 GAA and 37.0 shots allowed per game.

Joonas Donskoi, SAN vs. OTT ($4,900): The Senators are so bad that loading up against them makes total sense. A 3.87 GAA is troubling, but it's actually an awful 4.52 on the road. Meanwhile, Donskoi has been red hot recently with eight goals and 10 points over his last eight games.

DEFENSE

Jared Spurgeon, MIN vs. DET ($5,300): With Mathew Dumba out, Spurgeon has been up to his larger offensive role. The 29-year-old has racked up 26 points in 43 games, including seven in his last five. As for the Red Wings, they came into Friday with a 3.70 road GAA, and will now be playing on the second night of a back-to-back.

Jeff Petry, MON vs. COL ($5,000):Shea Weber has slowed down offensively, but Petry has picked up the slack. He's recorded a point in each of his last two games, totaling 31 on the season – including nine with the extra man. If Semyon Varlamov starts as expected, it will bode well for Petry as the Russian netminder has recorded a 4.47 GAA and .849 save percentage in his last eight outings. On top of that, the Avalanche own the 27th-ranked penalty kill.
