FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Normally, the weekend is something to get excited about, but with all the holiday action recently, the weekend feels a bit less special. Hey, there are still seven games on the NHL slate Friday. That's something to get pumped for. Here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM at CAR ($8,600): Bobrovsky has had an up-and-down year, but over his last eight games he has a 1.75 GAA and .942 save percentage. He's been great the last couple of seasons, so we know at what level of play he is capable. The Hurricanes have put a ton of shots on goal, but they are still bottom four in goals per game. They are also on the second night of a back-to-back.

CENTER

Ryan Johansen, NAS at DET ($6,100): Johansen has four points over his last two games, giving him 35 points through 41 contests. He also has Viktor Arvidsson back on his wing now, which certainly helps. The Wings have a 3.33 GAA, and have given up 34.1 shots on net per contest, both of which bode well for Johansen.

Alex Kerfoot, COL vs. NYR ($4,500): Kerfoot has played well since returning from injury, notching five points in seven games. He's also got nine points with the extra man through 37 contests. As for the Rangers, they've been pretty bleak defensively on the road. They have a 4.06 GAA in away games.

WING

Chris Kreider, NYR at COL ($6,300): Thanks to a nice run of goal scoring, Kreider already has 20 goals through 39 games, giving him his fourth 20-goal season in his career. At this rate, however, he'll cross the 30-goal threshold for the first time. Surprisingly, the Avalanche struggled quite a bit in December. They actually had a 3.57 GAA last month, second highest in the NHL.

Clayton Keller, ARI vs. NJD ($5,600): Keller has started 65.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second highest on the Coyotes behind the recently acquired Nick Schmaltz. He hasn't scored a goal in a while, but he has six assists in his last six games, including three on the power play. New Jersey has a 3.95 GAA on the road, third highest in the NHL. MacKenzie Blackwood had impressed since getting called up, but he just allowed five goals in his last start.

Nick Ritchie, ANA vs. VGK ($3,700): Ritchie is now skating on the top line for the Ducks, which is a bit surprising but good for his fantasy potential. Also helpful? The fact he's started 65.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among Ducks forwards. If that's not enough, he also has a three-game point streak. While the Golden Knights have been great at home, on the road they have a 3.17 GAA.

DEFENSE

Tyson Barrie, COL vs. NYR ($5,500): Speaking of three-game point streaks, Barrie is enjoying one of those as well. He's a more proven commodity offensively than Nick Ritchie, though, as he has 27 points in 37 games after having 57 in 68 contests last season. As previously noted, the Rangers have a 4.06 GAA in road games, and Friday's starter Aleksandar Georgiev has an .898 save percentage.

Shea Theodore, VGK at ANA ($4,300): Theodore's scoring has dried up, but he's still staying active offensively. He's put 23 shots on net in his last seven contests, giving him 101 through 40 games. The Ducks have allowed a lot of pucks on goal this season. Anaheim has given up 34.7 shots on net per contest, which is second highest in the NHL.
