FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Sundays tend to get started early on the hockey front, and this week is no different. There are seven games today, with the first one starting at 3:00 PM ET. If you want a chance to play a full slate for daily fantasy, you'll have to get your lineup in relatively early. Here are some recommendations to do so.

GOALIE

Jake Allen, STL vs. VAN ($7,600): After an objectively poor start to the season, Allen has been great recently. Over his last 10 games, he's posted a 1.92 GAA and .934 save percentage. The Canucks, who will be a long way from home, have not been great offensively and have only managed 28.7 shots on net per contest.

CENTER

Jonathan Toews, CHI vs. MON ($7,000): Chicago is having a down year and are primed to miss the playoffs once again, but at least Toews is above the fray. He has notched a point in three straight games, and 11 in his last 13. Offense is up this year, which means the Canadiens can have a 3.17 GAA and not be in the bottom 10. However, their .897 save percentage is far from encouraging.

Max Domi, MON at CHI ($6,500): Domi has been loving life north of the border after struggling to find his footing in three years with the Coyotes. The 23-year-old has 30 points in 29 games, including 13 goals. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks have struggled mightily defensively. They have struggled to a 3.70 GAA and have given up 33.7 shots on goal per contest.

WING

Alexander Radulov, DAL at VGK ($6,400): Since returning from injury, Radulov has racked up 11 points and 39 shots on goal through 12 games. Now he's facing a Golden Knights team on the second game of a back-to-back. Malcolm Subban will likely be in goal for Vegas, and he comes in with a 4.03 GAA and .859 save percentage.

Nikolaj Ehlers, WPG vs. PHI ($5,800): Ehlers is now skating on Winnipeg's top line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler, which should certainly pay off. On that front, he's managed seven points in his last six contests. The Flyers sit 29th in GAA and 30th in penalty-kill percentage, and are also on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

Alexander Steen, STL vs. VAN ($5,000): Steen has been dealing with injuries recently, but he's healthy again and has recorded six goals and 11 points in 19 games. Five of his points have come with the extra man, and he's registered at least 14 power-play points in each of his last five seasons. The Canucks enter with a 3.42 GAA and an .891 save percentage thanks to some seriously bad goaltending.

DEFENSE

Torey Krug, BOS at OTT ($5,900): Krug finally scored his first goal Saturday, which makes sense given that he's put 44 shots on goal over 18 games. He has also tallied 14 assists on the year. This could be a great matchup for him to continue lighting the lamp, as the Senators rank last in GAA, shots allowed per game, and penalty-kill percentage. On top of that, they are playing the second game of a back-to-back.

Charlie McAvoy, BOS at OTT ($4,500): Hey, we're talking about a matchup with the Senators here. They owned a 4.10 GAA heading into Saturday night's game against the Penguins. You want to try and get more than one Bruin in your lineup if you can, and thanks to injuries on offense their blueline may be the best place to target. McAvoy has been hurt for most of the season, but he's healthy now. Seems like perfect timing.
