Yahoo DFS Hockey: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

Sunday's seven-game slate could hold some high-scoring affairs, as six teams rank in the bottom-third in terms of goals allowed per game. Five teams will be on the second half of back-to-back outings as well, and the first puck drops at 3:00 ET. Here are some players that will add value to your lineup and some that should be left alone:

GOALIE

Jake Allen, STL vs. VAN ($21): Allen struggled to begin the year and his stat line is still suffering, but he's been hot in the last 10 games with a .934 save percentage and 1.92 GAA. The 28-year old backstop draws an encouraging matchup against the Canucks, who rank 22nd in the league at 2.84 goals per game and only have one power-play goal over their last five outings. Allen's the cheapest goaltending option and quite the bargain.

GOALIE TO AVOID

Keith Kinkaid, NJD at ANA ($30): Kinkaid hasn't been able to find his groove on the road this year with a .893 save percentage and 3.47 GAA in opponents' barns. The 29-year old's recent play has been just as bad with just one win in his last six starts, allowing four goals in five of those outings. Kinkaid holds unnecessary risk against a rising offense and can be confidently looked past.

CENTER

David Krejci, BOS at OTT ($16): Krejci has taken over as the top-line center while Patrice Bergeron (ribs) is out, and he's finally fitting in with David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand, scoring two goals and adding an assist over the last two games. He's not going to slow down against the Senators, who rank last in the league with 4.10 goals allowed per contest and a 71.8 penalty-kill percentage.

CENTER TO AVOID

Colin White, OTT at BOS ($15): White's proving why he was a first-round pick in 2015 with 18 points in 28 games, but he has gone pointless in three of the last four. The matchup isn't right here, as the Bruins rank third in the league at 2.57 goals per game and have already kept White off the scoresheet in two meetings this year.

WINGS

Elias Lindholm, CGY at EDM ($22): Lindholm is red-hot with four goals, five assists and a plus-7 rating over the last five games heading into the Battle of Alberta. During the teams' first meeting of the year, they combined for 56 PIM. Expect this matchup to be just as physical, and Lindholm will look to cash in on the power play where he's already racked up 13 points.

Pontus Aberg, ANA vs. NJD ($16): Aberg is slated to work on the first line again with Ryan Getzlaf, and he's succeeded in that position lately with seven points in six games. The Devils have yielded at least three goals in seven straight outings and provide an intriguing opportunity for Aberg to continue this trend.

WINGS TO AVOID

Patrik Laine, WPG vs. PHI ($28): Laine's electric 18-goal November is still on our minds, but the 20-year-old has been pointless in four games since the calendar flipped to December. Laine also mustered just eight shots on goal over that span, so he's overpriced until he can get back on track.

Alex Tuch, VGK vs. DAL ($21): Tuch is legit with 21 points in 23 games, but he's gone minus-4 with a goal over the last four games. The Stars provide a difficult matchup as they rank second in the league at 2.55 goals allowed per game and fifth with an 84.1 penalty-kill percentage.

DEFENSEMEN

Colton Parayko, STL vs. VAN ($17): Since Alex Pietrangelo (hand) has been placed on injured reserve, Parayko has taken over as the top defenseman. The towering defender has a cannon for a shot and looks confident showing it off on the power play. Look for that to come in handy against the Canucks' porous penalty kill, which ranks 27th in the league at 75.0 percent.

Miro Heiskanen, DAL at VGK ($15): The Stars have an assortment of injuries on the blueline and it has propelled the teenager to the top pairing. Heiskanen looks like a natural fit with three goals, two assists and 15 shots on net in seven games. He's a cheap option and will be going against either the struggling Malcolm Subban or Marc-Andre Fleury, who will be on the second half of back-to-back games.

DEFENSEMEN TO AVOID

Darnell Nurse, EDM vs. CGY ($16): Nurse has picked up three points through the last two games, so fantasy owners may look to snag his value while he's hot. However, he hasn't been able to figure out the Flames lately, notching just one assist in the last six games against the divisional foe dating back to last season.

Vince Dunn, STL vs. VAN ($18): Dunn figured to see an uptick in playing time after Pietrangelo's injury, but he was benched in the third period of the last game and is now on a pairing with minor-league stalwart Chris Butler. The 22-year-old can't be relied on until he proves to be back in coach Craig Berube's good graces.
