Not fazed by unique offseason
Minshew is confident in his ability to prepare for the 2020 season despite virtual OTAs because of similar experiences during his college days, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports. "His path [to this point] was a rough path and it was one where he had to adjust," Minshew's coach at Washington State, Mike Leach, said. "There's not many people in the NFL that have been a part of more offenses than Gardner Minshew. He's an adapter, and he's skilled at it, and he's trained at it. All that is going to play into his favor to put his best foot forward."
Primed for significant role
Brought in as insurance
Glennon's recent signing appears aimed at achieiving the comfort level a veteran backup quarterback offers, as opposed to providing direct competition for presumptive starter Gardner Minshew, John Oehser of the team's official site reports.
Latest signing shouldn't be threat
Could fill multiple roles as rookie
Shenault, the Jaguars' 42nd overall pick in the 2020 draft, could be utilized at up to four skill positions during his rookie campaign, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports. "You can put him in the backfield. He can play Wildcat," coach Doug Marrone said. "You can put him as the F tight end. You can do a lot of things with him. You see it on his tape in 2018 and 2019. That's one of the things we looked at."
Pivotal season ahead?
Armstead may have an opportunity for an extended role in 2020 after the Jaguars declined the fifth-year option on Leonard Fournette (neck).
