2020 Fantasy Outlook
Four years of production at South Carolina included over 3,000 total receiving yards and no less than four touchdowns in a given season, but a broken foot kept Edwards out of the 2020 NFL Combine and he ultimately fell to the Raiders at No. 81 overall in the draft. The issue shouldn't linger into training camp, but Edwards faces stiff competition for targets as Las Vegas spent their first pick on Henry Ruggs to complement Tyrell Williams and slot receiver Hunter Renfrow, while tight end Darren Waller draws plenty of attention as well. Williams dealt with nagging plantar fasciitis in 2019, however, so the selection of the 6-foot-3, 212 pound Edwards selection provides the team with insurance on the outside. Read Past Outlooks

The Raiders selected Edwards (foot) in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 81st overall.
ANALYSIS
Edwards is the second of Vegas' back-to-back wideout picks in the third round following Lynn Bowden, with the pair having been preceded by 12th overall selection Henry Ruggs. With Hunter Renfrow in the slot and Tyrell Williams just signed in free agency last year, the Raiders are impractically crowded at receiver at this point. Edwards' foot injury shouldn't be a long-term issue, and when healthy, the 6-foot-3, 212-pound South Carolina product could offer starter-level utility in short order. Although he was selected after him, Edwards profiles better as an outside receiver than Bowden, and it might be easier to find snaps outside than in the slot with Renfrow already there. Still, this is a frustrating landing spot for Edwards, who stood out for four years and more or less matched the production of former college teammate Deebo Samuel.
