Joining Buffalo's secondary
Edwards signed a one-year deal with the Bills on Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
While spending the 2023 campaign with the Chiefs, Edwards logged 51 tackles and one interception in 17 regular-season games, including five starts. In his new locale, the 2019 third-round selection -- who turns 28 in May -- bolsters a safety corps that recently lost Jordan Poyer to the Dolphins in free agency.

Busy on free agent tour
Edwards visited with the Bills on Tuesday, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Edwards spent the 2023 season with Kansas City and saw the majority of his time in nickel or dime packages. He still managed five passes defensed and one pick and has drawn interest from both the Bills and Colts this offseason. Erickson suggests that other teams remain interested in signing Edwards, so it may take some time before the defensive back finds his new home.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick out of Kentucky, Edwards brings versatility to the Buccaneers secondary. The rookie is capable of playing either corner or safety, and his impressive college resume speaks to his all-around skill set. Edwards finished his four-year Wildcats career with 317 tackles (190 solo and 21 for loss), 10 interceptions (including two pick-sixes), 23 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Edwards clearly has the potential to compile impressive IDP numbers in a full-time role, but that opportunity isn't likely to be within reach to open his first season unless projected starting strong safety Justin Evans remains hampered by the toe injury that shortened his 2018 campaign.
