Injury Achilles
2019 Fantasy Outlook
A fourth-round pick last year, Dissly quickly emerged as the cream of the crop in Seattle's timeshare at TE, ripping off gains of 66, 34 and 24 yards before a patella tear Week 4 brought his rookie season to a halt. It's a tricky injury for any player to bounce back from, but the young tight end at least has age (23) and the timing of the injury (Sept. 30) working in his favor. While he didn't practice at OTAs or minicamp, Dissly will be about 10 months removed from the injury when Seattle opens training camp in late July. At that point he'll battle for snaps with Nick Vannett, Ed Dickson and Jacob Hollister, a group utterly lacking in upside. Given the questions Seattle faces at wide receiver with Doug Baldwin retiring, Dissly has a chance to emerge as one of Russell Wilson's preferred targets near the goal line. Read Past Outlooks

Making progress in recovery

Achilles
January 14, 2020
Coach Pete Carroll said Dissly is recovering well from the torn Achilles he suffered in Week 6, Andy Patton of USA Today reports. "He's killing the rehab. [Dissly] is doing great," Carroll said. "But, it's a long process, it's going to be some tough work for him."
ANALYSIS
Dissly suffered a season-ending injury for the second time in his two-year career when he tore his Achilles in Week 6. In the tight end's rookie campaign, he sustained a torn patellar tendon. Dissly beat that expected recovery timeline and showed no ill effects in his return to action, recording 23 receptions for 262 yards and four touchdowns over six games. He was one of Russell Wilson's top targets, and he was a weekly fantasy starter. A torn Achilles usually takes around a year to recover from, so it'll be tough, albeit possible, for him to return for Week 1 of the 2020 season. The Seahawks will likely retain pending RFA Jacob Hollister, who recorded 41 catches for 349 yards and three scores, and Ed Dickson (knee) still has another year on his contract after sitting out the entire 2019 campaign. If Dissly can get back to 100 percent, he'll likely be the No. 1 tight end, but there's no guarantee he gets to that point by Week 1, if at all.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Dissly is thought to be the top run-blocking tight end of the 2018 NFL Draft. This was a key reason why he was picked by the Seahawks in the fourth round. The 21-year-old only had three touchdown catches in his final two seasons at Washington. However, Ed Dickson isn't making progress on his quad injury, which could make Dissly the No. 2 tight end and give him more opportunities. Dissly's fantasy value remains low still.
