ENCE (0-0) vs. Vitality (0-0)

The first match in the Blast Premier Showdown is an EU match, with ENCE and Vitality facing off in the fast-paced best-of-one format as the group stage round robin commences. Vitality come into this match as favorites, especially following ENCE's last place dismissal from DreamHack Masters Spring. ENCE will look for the upset in their second event with new addition Jamppi, who has been one of the strongest members of the Finnish side, despite that last-place finish. if ENCE want to pull off the upset it will be off the back of their two AWPers, allu and Jamppi, who will have to shut down the superstar of Vitality, ZywOo. On Vitality's side it will be that same man, ZywOo who looks to take over the map and overpower ENCE with his sheer talent. If Vitality wants to secure their 1-0 start, they will look for one of their veteran's to step up, whether it be shox, apEX or RpK, who makes that difference alongside ZywOo. The value in this match should come from how volatile the best-of-one will be, with any player on the server having the ability to have an incredible match, especially someone like Jamppi or suNny.

Prediction: ENCE 13-16 Vitality

  • E Players to Target: Jamppi ($9,600 Captain, $6,400 Flex),

  • VIT Players to Target: ZywOo ($13,200 Captain, $8,800 Flex)

Dignitas (0-0) vs. mousesports (0-0)

The second match is one that looks to be one of the most one-sided of the day, but with mousesports struggling for form, the veteran guile of Dignitas could be one with a lurking upset. mousesports come into the match with losses to Complexity, BIG and MAD Lions in their last five games played, as well as a loss to NaVi, and with ropz the only man in form. On the other side of the server are Dignitas, who were able to take down both Heroic and North in their last five, with losses to Complexity and Astralis. If this match ends up on Dust 2, Dignitas should struggle, with the raw firepower of mousesports one of their biggest strengths; if a map like Nuke or Vertigo is brought on, Dignitas have the upset potential. The value in this match should come from mousesports; if they can display the firepower that has seen them push towards the top of the world rankings, ropz, Frozen or woxic could all be great, especially woxic with a $10,200 salary.

Prediction: Dignitas 8-16 mousesports

  • DIG Players to Target: hallzerk ($12,300 Captain, $8,200 Flex)
  • mouz Players to Target: ropz ($11,400 Captain, $7,600 Flex), woxic ($10,200 Captain, $6,800 Flex)

Ninjas in Pyjamas (0-0) vs. Astralis (0-0)

The third match continues in Europe, with two new-look rosters squaring off in their opening matches of Blast Premier Spring. NiP, with new man hampus picking up the in-game leading duties for the Swedes, will look to take down world No. 1 Astralis, with new emergency stand-in Snappi, as well as new long-term addition, JUGi. It is cliche to point towards the newest additions as the difference makers, but in the case of Astralis, it couldn't be anymore true. JUGi is playing for in-game leader gla1ve, while Snappi is a short term emergency addition to the side to replace Xyp9x. If Astralis want to continue their good form they will look towards both of those players to fill significant firepower gaps, as well as continue in-game leading prowess from the side of magisk. NiP, on the other hand, has a new but more settled roster; the players and team have shown support for new in-game leader hampus as he looks to fill the shoes left by Lekr0, while also bringing a star-studded roster together as a unit. If NiP want to take the match from Astralis, they will have to be fluid, looking to target the inconsistencies or weakness in this new Danish formation. With both teams looking to fill in a new strategy book, a match on Dust 2 or Vertigo, where default's are king, could be on the cards, but in the end the Danes should still boast a large firepower advantage. That advantage, in what could be a sloppy match from both sides, should be enough to see them over the finish line.

Prediction: NiP 11-16 Astralis

NiP Players to Target: nawwk ($10,800 Captain, $7,200 Flex)

A Players to target: device ($14,400 Captain, $9,600 Flex), magisk ($13,500 Captain, $9,000 Flex)

MAD Lions (0-0) vs. Fnatic (0-0)

The final match of the slate looks to be the closest of the day, with MAD Lions looking to upset world No. 3 Fnatic, who have been in abysmal form of late. Fnatic come into the match with one win in their last five, a 2-1 victory over GODSENT. MAD Lions are in considerably better form, with wins over MiBR and mousesports, and they'll look to push that form into a 1-0 record at the start of Blast Premier. While Fnatic come in as favorites, it should all come down to two of the members of Fnatic, KRIMZ and Brollan; if that combo of experience and youth, of guile and firepower, can show their ability, it should be enough to see off MAD Lions. If it's a bad day for either of them, it would require an excellent performance from JW and flusha, who have shown flashes of their previous brilliance despite Fnatic's poor form. MAD Lions paint a different picture; lead by the superstars of Bubzkji and sjuush, they will look to continue a run of good form and take down the highest ranked team in Group B. There is value to be had in this match, especially if you believe that MAD Lions will upset the Swedes, with Bubzkji, sjuush and roeJ offering excellent value to close out the slate. If Fnatic show the form that has seen them de-throne both NaVi and Astralis, it could be a short game for the Swedish veterans

Prediction: MAD Lions 7-16 Fnatic

  • MAD Players to Target: Bubzkji ($11,700 Captain, $7,800 Flex), sjuush ($10,500 Captain, $7,000 Flex)
  • FNC Players to Target: Brollan ($12,000 Captain, $8,000 Flex), KRIMZ ($11,400 Captain, $7,600 Flex)
