Will Shipley

Will Shipley

Running BackRB
Clemson Tigers
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Shipley will look to anchor the Tigers rushing attack for the third straight year. A durable runner, he saw double-digit carries in all but one game last season, seven times garnering 15 or more totes en route to 1,182 yards and 15 touchdowns. Shipley doesn't have homerun-hitting speed but is rather an efficient, volume runner that runs hard behind his pads and rarely is hit behind the line. He failed to score only twice last season, and is a capable receiver to boot, turning 46 targets into 38 grabs. With new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley expected to spark the Tigers' passing attack, Shipley could see less crowded defensive fronts and bigger alleys to exploit. There may not be much room for additional statistical growth, making Shipley a less-than-sexy pick on draft day, but he certainly looks to be amongst the most stable in the country. Draft him, set start him weekly and enjoy known production every week. Read Past Outlooks

January 3, 2024
Shipley announced Wednesday via social media that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Clemson to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS

His departure leaves Phil Mafah as the Tigers' likely No. 1 back for the 2024 season.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Shipley was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise dreadful Clemson offense in 2021, running for 738 yards (5.0 YPC) and 11 touchdowns while securing 16 of 24 targets for 116 yards despite battling through some injuries. Clemson has too much talent to stagnate on offense again in 2022, even if it takes a quarterback change to unlock that potential. Shipley was a five-star recruit who produced amid suboptimal circumstances and a breakout is coming. He can push for well over 1,000 yards on the ground this year and there’s untapped potential in Shipley as a pass-catcher.
