Lands at Georgia
February 13, 2020
Kirksey will join Georgia for spring practices as a walk-on transfer from Nevada, Jeff Sentell of DawgNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
At the time he left Nevada in late November during his true freshman season, Kirksey announced plans to move back to his home state of Georgia with the hope of walking on for the Bulldogs. Coach Kirby Smart has apparently accepted his request, so Kirksey will be one of several signal-callers vying for a depth role behind presumptive starter Jamie Newman, a graduate transfer from Wake Forest. Since he isn't on scholarship for Georgia and didn't see any action in his lone season at Nevada, Kirksey is able to compete right away in 2020 while retaining four years of eligibility.
