Harris, who stepped away from the Rutgers football program in early-September, has since announced Wednesday that he intends on transferring schools and playing elsewhere in 2023. The 6-foot-1 receiver began his collegiate career at Syracuse in 2018, committed to transfer to Kentucky in 2021, de-committed one month later and then finally chose to play for Rutgers in January of 2022. Harris caught one pass for nine yards in his first game in a Rutgers uniform, but he then announced his decision to step away from their program two days later.

After pondering multiple schools and even committing to Kentucky before backing out, Harris decided to take his talents to Rutgers. Harris will likely step right into the role Bo Melton vacated as the team’s top wideout. Harris has showcased elite talent at Syracuse where he recorded 733 yards receiving in 2020 before missing most of 2021 due to his transfer. Harris may be slightly handicapped by his quarterback Noah Vedral who has struggled to throw the football, in fact, Vedral had under 100 yards passing in the last five games of the 2021 season. If Vedral can improve as a thrower then Harris should be in line to be one of the top pass catchers in the Big Ten.
