Skips senior season to turn pro
January 3, 2019
Slayton will skip his senior season at Auburn and will enter the 2019 NFL draft, Opelika-Auburn News reports.
ANALYSIS
In terms of the regular season, Slayton's 2018 showing was ok, but he put up a monster three-touchdown showing in the team's bowl game win over Purdue to boost his numbers. He finishes the season with 35 receptions for 670 yards and five touchdowns, the latter two figures also leading the team. Slayton has proven to be a big vertical threat for the Tigers, though some NFL scouts question his ability to win contested jump balls and elude professional defenders.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
The 6-foot-2 Slayton is the leading returning receiver in terms of yardage for the Tigers, and he averaged a stellar 19.5 yards per reception as a freshman. Unfortunately, Slayton caught just 15 balls, as the Auburn passing game struggled mightily. Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham should provide some stability at the quarterback position, and with Tony Stevens in the NFL, Slayton has a huge opportunity to become the go-to receiver in the run-pass offense. Kyle Davis and Eli Stove should also be heavily involved, though.
