Declaring for NFL Draft
December 21, 2020
Funk announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Maryland to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Funk had the option of returning to college for a sixth year of eligibility in 2021, but he'll instead try his luck at the next level on the heels of a breakout 2020 campaign. The 5-foot-10 running back averaged an impressive 8.6 yards per carry this fall while scoring four times in five games.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
After multiple seasons of waiting behind Ty Johnson, Anthony McFarland and Javon Leake, it may finally be time for Fleet-Davis to step into the spotlight at running back. He doesn’t sport the home-run hitting speed of some of his predecessors, but Fleet-Davis has power to run through arm tackles. Most of his work in 2019 came in garbage time, but he did display an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, reeling in 15 of his 17 targets for 181 yards and two touchdowns. He also managed 4.2 yards per carry en route to 265 yards and two touchdowns on 63 totes. His primary competition for reps this fall should come from Jake Funk (if healthy) and true freshman backs Peny Boone and Isaiah Jacobs, who have yet to practice with the team.
