Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
Kirk arrived to a Texas A&M squad loaded with talented receivers, but he made a compelling case to be considered the best of the bunch, even as a true freshman in 2015. He finished that year with 80 receptions for 1,009 yards and seven touchdowns, and while the quarterback play at A&M regressed last year, he still totaled 83 receptions for 928 yards and nine scores as a sophomore. Quarterback is a question again, but Kirk could see even more targets now that Josh Reynolds, Ricky Seals-Jones and Speedy Noil are gone from last year's team.
Kirk exploded onto the scene as a true freshman last season, making instant impacts in both the passing game and the return game. He earned first team All-SEC honors under the “All-Purpose” label and he also took home Newcomer of the Year honors thanks to his 80 catches for 1,009 yards (12.61 YPR) and seven scores on offense in addition to two punt return touchdowns. Although Kirk (5-11, 200) doesn’t have the height of his counterparts Josh Reynolds (6-4, 194) or Ricky Seals-Jones (6-5, 240), he is solidly built and a perfect fit in the Aggie offense. As a true freshman, Kirk had a staggering 44 more targets (129) than the Aggies’ second-leading receiver (Josh Reynolds, 85 targets). Kirk’s overall volume may not see much of an uptick this season, but his market share of the targets was already close to 30 percent. Look for Kirk to again be A&M’s most reliable and most targeted receiver in 2016, though the deep rotation at wideout could limit his ceiling.
