Maxx Williams

Williams wasn't a highly-recruited player coming out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but it looks like the Gophers got themselves a noteworthy talent by keeping him in state. As a redshirt freshman last year, Williams led Minnesota or tied for the lead in all receiving categories, finishing with 25 catches for 417 yards (16.7 YPC) and five touchdowns. The second-closest pass catcher, wideout Derrick Engel, graduated in the offseason, so Williams ought to be even better in 2014. His upside is likely limited, though, by the fact that Minnesota's offense is very run-heavy and not particularly adept at throwing the ball.
