Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

After a crazy Monday slate that was headlined by the Bucks unexpectedly resting several starters, we turn the page with nine games in the NBA on Tuesday. Let's highlight a couple of players at each position that are worth considering for your Yahoo entry, as well as a few to potentially avoid.

GUARDS

Devin Booker, PHO at POR ($37): The Suns are going to have to rely on Booker even more down the stretch because of injuries. Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) is likely out for the season and Deandre Ayton (ankle) has missed the last two games. That's propelled Booker to score at least 47 Yahoo points in back-to-back games, one of which came against these same Blazers. Even if Ayton does return for this contest, this is still a great spot to deploy Booker considering the Blazers have the fourth-worst defensive rating in the league.

Derrick White, SA vs. DAL ($14): If the Spurs are going to try and make a push for the playoffs, it looks like they will have to do it without Dejounte Murray (calf) for at least the next few games. He's been ruled out for this contest against the Mavericks and there was no timetable given for his return. His absence should mean more playing time for White, who is already performing well with averages of 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists across the last 12 games.

Guard to Avoid

Tomas Satoransky, CHI vs. CLE ($16): Bulls' coach Jim Boylen has been opposed to starting Coby White, but bringing him off the bench has been a bit ridiculous given how well White has played lately. The decision has finally been made to start White in this contest, which will push Satoransky to the bench. Satoransky has already logged 26 minutes or fewer in back-to-back games and should one again spend limited time on the floor.

FORWARDS

Robert Covington, HOU vs. MIN ($27): This has the potential to be a high-scoring affair with both the Rockets and the Timberwolves ranked inside the top-four in the league in pace of play. Covington has been excellent since the Timberwolves traded him to the Rockets, including averaging 1.1 steals and 2.5 blocks across 13 games. Add in the potential for a strong scoring performance here and Covington is an excellent mid-tier option to consider.

Shaquille Harrison, CHI vs. CLE ($15): The Bulls have been slowly bringing along Otto Porter Jr., who finally surpassed 20 minutes in his last game against the Nets. Considering that he's missed most of the season because of injury, the Bulls might continue to limit his playing time moving forward. That, combined with the absence of Chandler Hutchison (shoulder), has thrust Harrison into a starting role. He's made the most of his opportunity, scoring at least 30.4 Yahoo points in each of the last three games.

Forward to Avoid

Thaddeus Young, CHI vs. CLE ($22): Porter isn't the only player that the Bulls are bringing back slowly from injury. Lauri Markkanen has logged 26 minutes or fewer in each of his three games since making a comeback. Young was regularly logging over 30 minutes a night when Markkanen was out, but he's been on the floor for 26 minutes or fewer in both of the last two games. His price is still fairly high given his new role, so he might be best left out of your entry.

CENTERS

Nikola Vucevic, ORL at MEM ($40): Vucevic is one of the more reliable center options whenever he takes the floor. He's scored at least 38.5 Yahoo points in 12 of his last 13 games and has scored at least 45.7 Yahoo points in each of his last four games. With Evan Fournier (elbow) out, the Magic are going to need even more offense from Vucevic moving forward. That could spell a big night for him with the Grizzlies playing at the sixth-fastest pace in the league.

Aron Baynes, PHO at POR ($15): If Ayton is out again -- editor's note: he went through shootaround Tuesday morning -- it's going to be difficult to pass up on Baynes at this price. He absolutely torched the Blazers on Friday, finishing with 37 points, 16 rebounds, a steal and two blocks. He followed that up with 24 points and seven rebounds against the Bucks on Sunday. He logged at least 33 minutes in both contests and should once again be busy if Ayton is sidelined.

Center to Avoid

Jarrett Allen, BKN at LAL ($16): It's not a good sign for Allen that in the first game after the Nets parted ways with coach Kenny Atkinson, he came off the bench behind Deandre Jordan. That could be a move that sticks for the rest of the season. He only played 19 minutes in that game against the Bulls, so it's difficult to get too excited about his prospects against a Lakers team that has the third-best defensive rating in the league.
