Handicapping the NBA: Monday Roundtable

This article is part of our NBA Picks series.

Monday's Roundtable has three participants sharing their favorite bet of the day:

Alex Barutha: Donovan Mitchell, Over 33.5 points + rebounds + assists (-121) vs. Cavaliers -- DK Sportsbook, 11:37 AM

Mitchell seems to be on a one-man mission trying to turn things around for the Jazz, who are only a half game up on the Thunder in the Western Conference standings. Over the past four games, Mitchell is averaging 34.0 points on 24.0 shots, 6.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 35.0 minutes. Though the Cavaliers have been surprisingly solid since the All-Star break (3-3 record), they've surrendered the most assists per 48 minutes (29.3) over this span, and I'm banking on Mitchell continuing his high-volume ways. If you want to lean on his scoring more, FanDuel is offering Mitchell 25+ points/Utah to win for +132, or 30+ points/Utah to win for +320.

Nick Whalen: Russell Westbrook UNDER 28.5 pts at NYK -- DK Sportsbook, noon CT

There's a case to be made that Westbrook is a top-five offensive player in the NBA over the last month or so, but I like the under on this number. Yes, Westbrook is coming off of another huge game Saturday, and yes he's averaging nearly 35 points per game over his last 12. But for as bad as the Knicks are, they've been at least semi-respectable on defense of late, and over the last 10 games, they rank in the top-half of the league in points in the paint allowed to opponents. Almost the entirety of Westbrook's damage during this devastating run has come around the rim, but the Knicks have the size to bother him on drives that still often border on out-of-control. Chances are, that won't stop Westbrook from continuing to fly into the lane, as he's taken at least 20 shots in 25 of his last 26 games. I like the Rockets to win Monday, but this time with James Harden leading the charge from a scoring perspective.

Jeff Edgerton: INDIANA (-2.5) @ San Antonio (DK Sportsbook, 9 a.m. ET)

Although the Spurs play tough at home, LaMarcus Aldrdge's absence will definitely be felt and Domantas Sabonis should be able to take advantage. Malcolm Brogdon and T.J. Warren will stay busy in the backcourt, and if Victor Oladipo continues to trend up, the Pacers should cover easily.
