Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Sunday's four-game slate in the NBA brings the first opportunity for a team to advance in the playoffs with the Celtics looking to close out the Pacers. The Clippers, Magic and Thunder will all be looking to tie up their respective series at home. We also have an opportunity to play more Yahoo DFS, so here are some players to target and avoid while crafting your entry.

GUARDS

Damian Lillard, POR at OKC ($45): After averaging 19.2 shot attempts during the regular season, Lillard has attempted exactly 21 shots in each of the first three games of this series. He's been efficient by shooting 46 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent from behind the arc. The end result has been him scoring at least 43.8 Yahoo points in all three games. He'll continue to be the focal point of their offense Sunday, leaving him with a high floor once again.

Andre Iguodala, GS at LAC ($12): With all of the star power that the Warriors have, Iguodala is sometimes lost in the shuffle. However, he's been productive by averaging 28.8 Yahoo points in this series. Both of these teams finished inside the top-10 in the league in pace of play during the regular season and the absence of DeMarcus Cousins (quadriceps) should leave Iguodala with added minutes, making him a great option at this cheap price.

Guard to Avoid

Terry Rozier, BOS at IND ($17): A healthy Kyrie Irving is key for the Celtics' chances of making a deep run in the playoffs. However, that means Rozier is going to have a limited role coming off the bench. He hasn't played more than 21 minutes in any of the first three games, scoring 18.2 Yahoo points or fewer in each contest. There just aren't enough opportunities for him to warrant adding him to your lineup.

FORWARDS

Kevin Durant, GS at LAC ($41): Durant had attempted a combined 24 shots across the first two games of this series. However, with Cousins on the sidelines, Durant was much more aggressive in Game 3, finishing with 23 shot attempts. That helped propel him to 54.3 Yahoo points. As good as Patrick Beverley can be on the defensive end, Durant is one of the toughest, if not the toughest, players to defend in the league. If he continues to attempt so many shots, his ceiling is off the charts.

JaMychal Green, LAC vs. GS ($11): Green is quietly having a good series with averages of 12.7 points and six rebounds in just 21 minutes a game. He's actually averaged more minutes than Ivica Zubac, which could continue Sunday since his skillset is better suited for the Warriors style of play. At near the minimum price, he could be worth taking a chance on in tournament play.

Forward to Avoid

Gordon Hayward, BOS at IND ($19): This wasn't going to be a high-scoring series with how well these two teams both play on the defensive end. There have been several players with disappointing offensive performances so far, including Hayward. He's only shot 38.5 percent from the field, scoring 17 and 13.5 Yahoo points, respectively, in the last two games. Considering he doesn't come at much of a discount, buyer beware.

CENTERS

Al Horford, BOS at IND ($22): While some players have had muted performances in this series, Horford isn't one of them. His ability to contribute in multiple areas helps him continue to have a high floor despite the tough defensive tone of these games. He's also shown no signs of being slowed by a knee injury that gave him problems throughout the season, logging at least 32 minutes in all three games of this series.

Andrew Bogut, GS at LAC ($11): At the time, the Warriors bringing back Bogut toward the end of the season seemed like a minor move. However, with Cousins likely out for the rest of the playoffs, Bogut is set to start at center moving forward. He immediately made an impact in Game 3 with 14 boards. Scoring opportunities will likely be few and far between for him, but he shoots for a high percentage, which should at least help him approach a double-double if he can log 25 minutes again like he did Thursday.

Center to Avoid

Serge Ibaka, TOR at ORL ($19): The addition of Marc Gasol was huge for the Raptors' chances of making a long playoff run. However, it created a bit of a logjam up front between him, Pascal Siakam and Ibaka. Ibaka was eventually moved to the second unit, putting a significant damper on his upside. He hasn't played more than 24 minutes or scored more than 26.6 Yahoo points in any of the first three games of this series, so he's not a very appealing option.
