Weekly Hitter Rankings: Double the Run

Weekly Hitter Rankings: Double the Run

This article is part of our Weekly Hitter Rankings series.

The penultimate week of the season features at least nine doubleheaders. More could be added, depending how the scenario with the San Francisco Giants fleshes out. The Cardinals lead the way with three twin bills while the Brewers, Pirates, Nationals and Marlins have a pair.

In terms of games, the Redbirds have 10 (six only seven innings) with the Fish and Bucs slated for nine. The Orioles, Brewers and Phillies take the field eight times. The aforementioned clubs all finish high in the rankings, along with the Red and their seven home games against league average pitching.

The Cubs, Royals and Giants are all scheduled for five contests, though San Francisco is subject to change.

Those favoring platoons into their lineup note the Orioles are lined up to face five southpaws while the Pirates are looking at nine right-handers.
